Weekly Message - October 19-23

We have officially passed the halfway point in October and it feels like the school year is moving quickly. There is already a crisp, cold feeling in the air each morning so fall is upon us! We have a four-day week again with no classes for students on Monday, Oct. 19. The school is being used as a voting site for the provincial referendum.

Our School Council and Parent Association is holding their October meeting this week on Wednesday, Oct. 21. We will be meeting at 6:30pm in the school's Learning Commons. Please join us if you can!

Halloween Costumes

Halloween falls on a weekend this year, so we encourage students to dress up, join in the fun, and enjoy the day on Friday, Oct. 30. There are a few simple expectations that must be met by those who choose to participate: students cannot wear full face masks that hide their identity and costumes cannot include weapons.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day Assemblies will be held on Tuesday, November 10, and visitors are welcome to join us. We will be holding two assemblies to include all our students. The first assembly for grades six and eight students will begin at 8:30am. The second assembly for our grade seven and nine students will begin at 10:30am.

Activity Day Field Trip

The information letter for our annual activity day was sent home this week. We are very excited for another amazing day of activities throughout the city and area on December 3, 2026.

If you know your child will be absent on Dec 3, please email Ms Connolley (alconnolley@cbe.ab.ca). There is no group just staying back at the school so all students attending school that day need to be registered in an activity.

Students received their information letter and sign up slip this week.  Please read it over and sign their slip.  If they have lost their letters, a copy is on their PE and Wellness google classroom for you to print off.  Sign up will take place on Oct 22nd during the school day.  Students must have their slip signed and their cash to be able to sign up.
