Weekly Message - May 19-22
I hope you’re enjoying the fresh burst of spring; the warmer weather is really helping our plants—we’re finally seeing leaves on the trees and flowers starting to bloom around the community! Predictably, the forecast for the long weekend looks slightly less positive but we know from experience that it will be shortlived and the sunshine will return. Please remember that there will be no school on Monday, May 18 for Victoria Day. Students will return to classes on Tuesday, May 19.
Big congratulations to all our badminton teams for a great season! It was wonderful to see so many students on all four teams giving their best effort and showing strong sportsmanship.
Band Success!
Our Band travelled to Red Deer this week for an international band festival. Their performance was outstanding and they received a gold medal recognizing their exceptional work. We are so proud of this group and their growth this year. Feedback from other schools and adjudicators was overwhelmingly positive and our students were exceptional participants of the festival.
Save the Date – Spring Music Concert
Our Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at Captain Nichola Goddard. Weather permitting, we plan to hold our concert outside behind the school, with performances located on the compound! Although we will have chairs available for the audience. Please feel free to bring your own picnic blankets and outdoor chairs for our festival of sound! We will be featuring our Jr. Band, Sr. Band, Jazz Band, and Strings Club, with a special farewell performance by our grade 9 students. Performers are required to arrive by 5:45pm and the show will start at 6:30pm!
