Weekly Message - April 27-May 1

There's a renewed energy in the air, and it's a great time to be at school as we head into the final stretch of the year. The weather appears to be gradually improving although it is certainly keeping us all on our toes. Fingers crossed that we will have a beautiful week ahead! With warmer days coming, crocuses emerging, and the first leaves starting to unfold; it finally feels like spring has arrived.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who came to our Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Thursday; we couldn’t do it without you!

Also, thank you to all parents who attended parent-teacher conferences on Thursday evening or last Friday afternoon. Working together is essential for student success and we very much appreciate your partnership and support.

Last but not least, thank you from all of the staff to everyone who spoiled us with treats on Thursday evening, they were delicious!

Terry Fox Celebration Assembly

We had a record setting fundraiser in September, and our school was recognized by the Terry Fox Foundation for our outstanding efforts. A visit from Terry’s brother, Fred Fox, was scheduled for this Thursday, April 30. Unfortunately, Fred’s health is not great, so he has been forced to reschedule his visit. We will still be moving forward with our activities and celebration of our amazing students this week. We have some themed spirit days this week so encourage your child to join in the festivities and earn some points for their homeroom!

  • Tuesday, April 28th: Athletics Day (wear anything sport related like a jersey or a sporty hat)
  • Wednesday, April 29th: Toque & Scarf Day (wear a toque and scarf as mentioned in the title)
  • Thursday, April 30th: Phoenix Spirit Day (wear your CNG Phoenix gear or school colours)

Transfers and Moves

As we plan for the next school year, we are working through classroom assignments and timetable creation. It is very helpful to maintain an updated record of students returning next year and students moving away. If your student is moving to another school for the 2026-27 school year, please inform the office as soon as possible.

To keep the office informed of any address or telephone changes that may occur throughout the year, you can update demographic information through MyCBE by clicking on the School Engage tab.
