Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend so don’t forget to set your clocks back by an hour.
Remembrance Day Assemblies
We will be holding our Remembrance Day assemblies this Thursday, November 7. We have adjusted our grade groupings and the start times from the previously published information. The first assembly will be held at 8:30AM for our grade 6 and 8 students, the second assembly will be held at 10am for our grade 7 and 9 students. Family members are welcome to join us for either assembly; please register at the office upon arrival at the school.
Reminder – Fall Break – November 9-13
There is no school for students on Friday, November 8 during the non-instruction day and the school will be closed from Monday, November 11 until Wednesday, November 13 for the new Fall Break. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 14.
School Council – November 20
A friendly reminder that our next School Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons.
Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays
School Council is excited to continue with Healthy Hunger as an easy way to order special lunches! Please register and order on the Healthy Hunger website. A big THANK YOU goes to all the volunteers who come every Tuesday and Wednesday to distribute the lunches to the classrooms and students. This is a huge fundraiser during the school year, and we couldn’t do it without you!
Veterans Food Drive ends November 7
We are collecting non-perishable food items for the Veterans Association Food Bank (canned tuna, coffee, sugar, pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit and vegetables, pudding, canned beans, etc.). We also encourage families to make a financial donation to the Veteran's Food Bank of Alberta Our CNG community is being challenged to bring in one food item donation per student. Please help us in attaining our goal of 973 items collected for donation to our local veterans.
Activity Day
We are still requiring a large number of volunteers for our activity day trips. If you have your clearnance already complete at CNG, we need your help! Please email Ms Connolley (alconnolley@cbe.ab.ca) to get the correct form for the trip you are wanting to help with.
