Weekly Message - January 6-10
Happy Holidays from everyone at Captain Nichola Goddard School! We hope that the break will be restful and that families have an opportunity to spend time together welcoming the new year. Our regular classes will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Staff Farewells and Welcomes
Winter break is sometimes a moment of change for staff careers in school. This year, we are saying farewell to some staff members who are moving on and we wish them all the best as they enter into a new role or stage of life:
- Mrs. Monica Eldred, our office receptionist has moved into a new EAL Assistant role in a new school.
 - Ms. Kim Bertsch, one of our education assistants is retiring
 - Mr. Tok Lee, grade 7 math and science teacher is also retiring
 - Ms. Sam Adams, grade 9 humanities teacher is starting a maternity leave but will return to our school when that leave ends.

On January 6, we will be welcoming some new staff members to Captain Nichola Goddard:
- Ms. Quinlan McCormack, currently teaching Art and grade 6 Humanities will be stepping into the grade 9 role vacated by Ms. Adams
 - Ms. Madi Ing will be taking over grade 7 Math & Science from Mr. Lee
 - Ms. Gloria Tse will be assuming the role of Art and grade 6 Humanities
 - Ms. Dawn Borowski will be joining our staff as a lunchroom supervisor
 - Ms. Linda Coulter will be entering the role of office receptionist

Report Cards
This year, report cards will be sent home electronically at the end of January. All families will be able to access their child’s report card through a tab titled Report Card in My CBE at the end of the first term.
Heathy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays
Don’t forget to order your fun lunch at HealthyHunger.ca. The money raised from Healthy Hunger goes toward supporting the school program in a variety of ways. Many exciting events coming up this year will also benefit from this fundraising program.
