Weekly Message - April 21-25
Our school has been selected as both an advance polling station and a regular polling station for the upcoming federal election. This means that voters will be accessing the building for early voting this weekend (Friday-Monday) and also on the general election day, Monday, April 28.
There will be adjustments made for student movement in the building on Monday, April 28 during the general election. Plans are underway to ensure classes continue uninterrupted while also allowing the public to access the main gym for voting. Details about student movement through the building during the day will be shared in classes so that students understand where they can and cannot go during the day.
Fortunately, no adjustments are needed during advance polling as there are no classes on Friday, April 18, or Monday, April 21.
School Council and Parent Association
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who were able to join us for the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, April 16. We are very fortunate to have engaged families and were successful in filling all of the positions for both the school council and the parent association. If you are interested in joining us, there is always room for more! Please contact outgoing council chair Pat Wiebe at cngscouncilchair@gmail.com and parent association chair April Boutin at parentassoc.cngs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to join us in the future.
Volunteer Appreciation – April 24 (8:15am – 9:30am)
Please join us for our annual Volunteer Appreciation to recognize all the wonderful contributions you have made to our school community! We will be providing morning snacks, a performance from our jazz band, displays from our students, and an opportunity to mingle in our Learning Commons. Please RSVP by Tuesday, April 22 to captainnicholagoddard@cbe.ab.ca if you can join us, and please let us know if there are any food allergies we should be aware of. Thank you for all that you do!
Transfers and Moves
As we plan for the next school year, we are working through classroom assignments and timetable creation. It is very helpful to maintain an updated record of students returning next year and students moving away. If your student is moving to another school for the 2024-25 school year, please inform the office as soon as possible.
Please keep the office informed of any address or telephone changes that may occur throughout the year. You can update demographic information through MyCBE by clicking on the School Engage tab.
