Weekly Message - April 28-May 2
What a beautiful week ahead! With sunshine in the forecast, crocuses popping up, and the first leaves starting to unfold, it finally feels like spring has arrived. There's a renewed energy in the air, and it's a great time to be at school as we head into the final stretch of the year.
Federal Election
Captain Nichola Goddard School is a polling station for the federal election on Monday, April 28. The main doors will be unlocked at 7:30am and students should enter the building as soon as they arrive at school. We are asking students to exit the building using side and rear doors at lunch and the end of the day to avoid congestion in the front entrance.
Celebrating Nichola’s Birthday
May 2 is our school namesake’s birthday! The school will be holding a pancake breakfast for all of our students on Friday to celebrate Nichola’s birthday. We encourage our students to talk about her with their families. Nichola’s legacy is alive and well at our school and there is a short, but interesting documentary on Valour Canada to help learn more about Nichola.
Hats on for Mental Health
Wednesday May 7 is Hats on for Mental Health Day. Students across Alberta are encouraged to wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health. To learn more please visit their website.
Transfers and Moves
As we plan for the next school year, we are working through classroom assignments and timetable creation. It is very helpful to maintain an updated record of students returning next year and students moving away. If your student is moving to another school for the 2024-25 school year, please inform the office as soon as possible.
Please keep the office informed of any address or telephone changes that may occur throughout the year. You can update demographic information through MyCBE by clicking on the School Engage tab.
