Weekly Message - May 11-15
With Mother’s Day this weekend, we wish all the amazing moms in our community a weekend filled with appreciation and love!
As we move into May, there’s a lot to look forward to at Captain Nichola Goddard School! Our students are gearing up for track and field, football and PATs. We’re looking ahead to an exciting concert in early June that promises to showcase some incredible talent. A reminder that our final School Council meeting of the year will take place this Wednesday evening—we hope to see many of you there!
The coming week is a short week with a professional learning day scheduled for Friday, May 15, and the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 18. Classes resume for students on Tuesday, May 19.
School Council – Final Meeting of 2025-26
Please join us for our last School Council and Parent Association meeting of the year on Wednesday May 13, 2026 at 7:00pm.
We are still looking to fill the Chair and Vice Chair positions on Parent Association for the 2026-2027 school year. This is the fundraising branch of our School and without these positions filled and parent engagement, we are unable to have fundraisers or utilize previously raised funds for field trips, in-school residencies, supplemental school supplies and school clubs.
These positions require no experience and support will be provided by the existing members of School Council. If you have any questions, please contact:
cngscouncilchair@gmail.com or parentassoc.cngs@gmail.com
New Family Orientation/Open House – May 13
This Wednesday, we are hosting an open house for all the new families joining us for the 2026-27 school year. We will be holding an introductory presentation in the gymnasium at 6pm, opening all the classrooms for our new students and their parents to visit and conclude the evening by 7:00pm, just in time for our final School Council meeting of the year (7:00-8:00pm in the Learning Commons).
If you know of new families joining us next year that may have missed the emails from our elementary school partners, please let them know they are welcome to join us on Wednesday.
Save the Date – Spring Music Concert – June 3
Our Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at Captain Nichola Goddard. Weather permitting, we plan to hold our concert outside behind the school, with performances located on the compound! Although we will have chairs available for the audience, please feel free to bring your own picnic blankets and outdoor chairs for our festival of sound! We will be featuring our Jr. Band, Sr. Band, Jazz Band, and Strings Club, with a special farewell performance by our grade 9 students. Performers are required to arrive by 5:45pm and the show will start at 6:30pm!
CNGS Online Apparel store – NOW OPEN
The Captain Nichola Goddard school apparel online store is now open! Stock up on your spirit wear and get ready to kick off the next school year in style. The store will be open until 11:59 PM on May 17th—don’t miss your chance, as it only opens twice each year. Grab your gear while you can!
