Weekly Message - May 25-29
It’s hard to believe we’re heading into the final week of May! With just five weeks left in the school year, things are moving quickly! This past week marked the start of Provincial Achievement Tests for our 9 students; this week our Grade 6 students will write their first PAT. We know our students have been working hard and we’re proud of the effort they’re putting in.
Looking ahead, Track & Field and Flag Football events are coming up in early June, and our Outdoor Band Concert is just around the corner—perfect timing as we enjoy some warmer weather and more time outside.
Thanks for your continued support as we wrap up the month and keep the energy going strong into June!
Save the Date – Spring Music Concert
Our Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at Captain Nichola Goddard. Weather permitting, we plan to hold our concert outside behind the school, with performances located on the compound! Although we will have chairs available for the audience. Please feel free to bring your own picnic blankets and outdoor chairs for our festival of sound! We will be featuring our Jr. Band, Sr. Band, Jazz Band, and Strings Club, with a special farewell performance by our grade 9 students. Performers are required to arrive by 5:45pm and the show will start at 6:30pm!
Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs)
The grade 9 students began writing PATs this week with an English Language Arts test. Grade 6 students will take the ELAL test on Monday, May 25. The remainder of PAT testing will resume from June 4 until June 23. All of the dates and start times are available on the school website calendar.
Grade 9 Farewell – June 24
We are preparing for our annual farewell celebration for our grade nine students. Wednesday, June 24, is the night for the festivities. More details will be shared by grade nine teachers in the coming weeks.
Track and Field
Our track and field phys ed module is done! Congratulations to team Jamaica, Canada and Brazil for your huge win! We are super proud of the hard work of all our students over the past few weeks. We also have our track team released. All track athletes received a parent letter for you on Thursday and their paperwork to bring home on Friday. The track meet is on June 8th, so we only have 2 weeks to prepare to compete. Here is the training schedule along with which staff are coaching which events:
