Weekly Message - Dec. 11-15 | Spirit Week, Fill-a-Sock Campaign, Winter Break, Volleyball Season

The excitement is building for winter break! This week is a full five-day week and students’ first day back to classes after the break is Monday, January 8.

Activity Day Thanks

Thanks to all the staff and parent volunteers who helped make our Activity Day a success. Students had a wonderful time engaging in a variety of activities throughout the city and did an amazing job of being respectful at all the locations.

Scholastic Book Fair – Thank you!

Our sincerest gratitude for making our Book Fair an outstanding success! It was so much fun seeing the happiness that the Book Fair still brings to the students!   It was our biggest one yet, and thanks to your contributions, we were able to earn $2500 in free resources that will come back into our school!  Thank you so much!!

Spirit Week – Holiday Theme

This week everyone is invited to join in our winter holiday spirit week. Monday is Culture Day (dress in an outfit or wear a piece of clothing that represents your own culture), Tuesday is Fabulous Hair Day, Wednesday is Pajama Day, Thursday is Holiday Sweater Day and Friday is Holiday Character Day (Santa hats, reindeer antlers, elf ears!). Let’s have some fun before heading into winter break!

CNGS hosts a holiday movie night on Wednesday Dec 20 from 3:00-5:30pm. Tickets have been on sale late last week and will be for sale for $3 until all tickets are sold.

The Fill–a–Sock Campaign with the Calgary Drop-in Centre

The Fill–a–Sock Campaign with the Calgary Drop-in Centre are looking for donations. We are helping them in the holiday season by donating new or gently used winter clothing (socks, mitts, hoodies, hats), travel size hygiene items, reusable mugs (new or very clean), chocolate/candies, throat lozenges, Calgary transit tickets and $10 Tim Horton’s gift cards. All items will be collected and delivered to the Calgary Drop-in Centre late this week.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays

We are extremely fortunate to continue offering Healthy Hunger as an easy way to order special lunches! Please register and order on the Healthy Hunger website.  We are grateful to our dedicated group of parents who support this initiative, offering Healthy Hunger weekly is uncommon, and we could not do it without you.
