Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope that the break was restful and that families had an opportunity to spend time together. Regular classes resume on Monday, January 8. 

Report Cards - January 30 

This year, report cards will be sent home electronically at the end of January. All families will be able to access their child’s report card through a tab titled Report Card in MyCBE at the end of the first term.  

Heathy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays 

Don’t forget to order your fun lunch at HealthyHunger.ca. The money raised from Healthy Hunger goes toward supporting the school program in a variety of ways. Many exciting events coming up this year will also benefit from this fundraising program. 

School Council – next week 

Our next council meeting will be held next Tuesday, January 16, at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons. Please join us. 

Winter Band Concert & Art Showcase 

Our winter band concert & art showcase is coming up on January 23rd at 7:00pm in the gym. All band students must be at school by 6:30pm to be ready for the 7:00pm start. More information to come soon. 

Volleyball Tryouts 

Volleyball season starts on the first day back from break with tryouts for the four teams. The week’s schedule is as follows: 

Jan 8 - Jr Boys (gr 6-8) 2:45-4:30pm 

Jan 9 - Sr Boys (gr 9) 6:45-8am and Jr Girls (gr 6-8) 2:45-4:30pm 

Jan 10 - Sr Girls (gr 9) 6:45-8am and Sr Boys (callbacks) 2:45-4:30pm 

Jan 11 - Jr Boys (callbacks) 6:45-8am and Sr Girls (callbacks) 2:45-4:30pm 

Jan 12 - Jr Girls (callbacks) 6:45-8am 

To be called back to the second tryout, an athlete must attend the first tryout for a team.  Teams need to be chosen very quickly, as they start playing on Jan 24th and must be ready to compete against other schools.
